Bees hopeful Canos will be available soon
Thomas Frank is hopeful Sergi Canos will soon be back in action for Brentford.
Canos, 23, was sidelined by a knee injury in October and was expected to miss the rest of the season.
The campaign being paused because of the coronavirus pandemic means the Spaniard could yet be involved during the all-important run-in.
Bees boss Frank confirmed: “Sergi Canos is getting closer and closer and looking sharp. Hopefully he can soon be ready for selection.”
Meanwhile, striker Marcus Forss is still recovering from a hamstring problem.
The injury led to Forss’ loan at AFC Wimbledon being cut short in January.
Frank said: “He’s finding his way back into full fitness. He has some weeks before he is available for selection.”
Brentford face crucial derby
Brentford will resume their season with a crucial west London derby against fellow promotion hopefuls Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
The absence of fans from the stadium is sure to be a surreal experience for both sides.
Frank said: “All matches are preferably played with fans – it gives an extra edge.
“Football is for the people. You love to play in front of people and we love to make our fans happy. We would love to play Fulham with our fans,
“Unfortunately the world is not normal at this moment in time so we need to get the best out of it.”
