Brentford given a “lesson” – Rosler
Brentford boss Uwe Rosler insisted his side would learn from their 3-1 home defeat against Preston.
The loss was the Bees’ second in three matches at Griffin Park and North End showed exactly why they are regarded as strong contenders for an immediate return to the Championship.
“We got a lesson in power, strength and experience,” said Rosler.
“Preston are a side that have just been in the Championship and they have a lot of experience. We are in a transition and we have a way to go, but we will learn. I know we can compete and beat any team in this division when we’re on top form.
“There was a lot of expectation and I thought we were a little bit nervous. It’s not always going to go our way but we have to fight until the game’s over.
“I was very pleased with our response to going 1-0 down but then we let the momentum go again and at times in the second half it was a bit flat.”
Rosler opted not to include David Clarkson following his recent arrival on loan from Bristol City.
The striker will play in a reserve match next week along with midfielders Sam Saunders and Toumani Diagouraga, who are both returning from injury.
