Brentford 0 Notts County 0
Brentford’s unbeaten run stretched to seven games after a fierce stalemate with their play-off rivals.
Their manager Uwe Rosler squared off against his former Manchester City team-mate Keith Curle for a place in the top six.
But Brentford miss out on moving level on points with the Magpies with a second goalless draw this week.
Brentford came into this one on the back of a run of five straight wins and the point gained away at Hartlepool on Easter Monday.
But although they enjoyed most of the possession it was County who had the best chances in a high-tempo match.
Left-back Alan Sheehan forced a great save from Richard Lee before Jeff Hughes rattled the crossbar with a ferocious effort from 25 yards out.
Lee then denied former Blackburn midfielder Alan Judge with another outstretched save after the interval.
Bees strikers Clinton Morrison and Clayton Donaldson were both lively but went without a clear-cut opportunity.
Sam Saunders went closest for the Bees, but Stuart Nelson tipped wide his free-kick with four minutes left.
