Brentford have confirmed the sale of goalkeeper Simon Moore to Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old, who attracted interest from a number of clubs last season, has signed a four-year contract with the Premier League newcomers.
Released by Southampton as a teenager, Moore played non-League football before being signed by Brentford in 2009 following a trial.
He made 64 league appearances for the Bees – his final one coming in May’s League One play-off final defeat against Yeovil at Wembley.
“We now have to move on – our aims for this season have not changed because Simon has left,” insisted Brentford manager Uwe Rosler, who is now hoping to sign a replacement.
“We are working on getting someone in but we want to make sure we get the right person,” he added.
