Brentford have signed Sweden Under-19 winger Henrik Johansson on a two-and-a-half year deal.
The 18-year-old joins from Halmstads for an undisclosed fee and will initially be part of the Brentford B team.
Johansson will fly out with the rest of the development squad to Germany later this week for their match against Bayern Munich and then on to Denmark for an invitational tournament with Esbjerg and Hamburg.
The teenager, who is the grandson of Brazilian World Cup winner Garrincha, scored 16 goals and made 11 assists in 46 games in Sweden’s Under-19 league.
Robert Rowan, Brentford’s director of football operations, told the club’s website: “I am delighted we have added Henrik to our group.
“He’s had a good couple of years in Sweden at club and international level, which initially brought him to our attention.
“We then invited him to train with us in December for a few days where he really impressed the technical staff.
“Henrik is a wide attacker who is intelligent in possession, quick, direct and a good finisher. There are areas that the staff and Henrik will need to work on in order for him to further his development and they will plan that with him in the coming weeks.”
