Rosler rallies troops ahead of key games

Brentford manager Uwe Rosler has branded his team’s Easter programme “ridiculous” as he prepares his players for two crucial matches in their battle for a play-off place.

Rosler’s side, who have won their last four games, are at home to Bury on Saturday and must then make the long trip north for Monday’s clash at Hartlepool.

It means the German has spent this week focusing on his players’ recovery from a midweek victory over Oldham which left the Bees only five points away from the top six.

“The game on Saturday is a massive one for us, before we then head up to Hartlepool on Sunday and play on Monday,” said Rosler.

“It’s ridiculous having two games in two days, but that’s the way it is in England sometimes and we have to accept that.

“Our focus now is on recovery and trying to win three points against Bury, because then we’re talking [about reaching the play-offs].

“You don’t need to be a scientist to understand that after having so many games in March to then have two games in two days – and you travel I don’t know how many miles – it’s very difficult.”
