Frank aiming to stop in-form Hojlund
Thomas Frank hopes Brentford manage to keep his fellow Dane Rasmus Hojlund quiet in Saturday’s trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.
The 20-year-old striker, signed by United in the summer, has looked impressive – and scored twice against Galatasaray in the Champions League this week.
Bees boss Frank said: “I’m Danish and I’m happy that Danish players are coming through and doing well.
“He looks like he’s in a very good place. Hopefully we can keep him quiet on Saturday. That’s the aim.
“We need to make sure we don’t give him too much space to run into. He’s quick in his timing of runs and we need to see the situations early and try to close down the sources into him. That’s definitely a key area for us.”
United have made a woeful start to their season – compounded by them losing to Galatasaray.
But Brentford are going through a tough spell themselves, having gone five matches without a league win, and will be underdogs this weekend.
Frank said: “It’s a great club, great team, great manager, fantastic players and a big challenge, but we’re up for it and go there of course believing that we can get something out of it.”
