Frank thankful for Eriksen’s ‘successful’ Bees spell
Brentford boss Thomas Frank has thanked Christian Eriksen for his spell at the club, following confirmation of the midfielder’s move to Manchester United.
Eriksen joined the Bees in January on a contract which lasted until the end of June and made 11 appearances for the club.
Brentford had offered him an improved deal and Frank was optimistic of keeping hold of him for a longer spell, but the 30-year-old instead opted to sign with United.
And speaking to the club website, Frank said: “We wish him the best of luck at his new club.
“I think it’s been a successful relationship between Christian and Brentford. We helped him, he helped us – a fantastic agreement.
“Of course we hoped for him to stay longer but he decided something else. I’m thankful personally to get to know him even better after working with him 14 years ago.
Every staff and fan should be grateful for that.
“I also spoke with him in person and he just said thank you to everyone at Brentford and he really enjoyed his time here.”
Frank was speaking after the Bees lost 2-1 to Stuttgart in a pre-season friendly in Germany.
