Brentford agree sale of Dean to Birmingham

Brentford have agreed a deal to sell Harlee Dean to Birmingham City.

The defender’s future has been in doubt for some time as his contract is due to expire next summer and he has refused to sign a new deal.

Dean, 26, has made league 198 appearances for the Bees since being signed from Southampton 2012 following a spell at Griffin Park on loan.

He is due to undergo a medical on Tuesday afternoon. The transfer fee is expected to be £2m.
