Boss insists Bees will not back down as West Ham pursue Hogan

Brentford boss Dean Smith has insisted that the club will not let Scott Hogan go unless their valuation of the striker is met.

The Bees have rejected offers from West Ham and Reading for Hogan, while Watford have also made an approach.

There have been reports that West Ham are close to agreeing a deal for the 24-year-old, who has scored 14 goals this season.

But Smith said: “There have been offers from clubs for him but we said all along he has a value to us.

“We want to keep him at the club if we can, unless the valuation is met by any clubs looking at him.”

Hogan’s former club Rochdale would be entitled to a slice of any transfer fee.

  • If Watford are after Hogan, take Sinclair in part exchange but they will still have to pay 12 million.
