Jake Bidwell says he would like to play for Brentford again next season – even if Everton decide to keep him.
The 19-year-old full-back has become a fans’ favourite after making 20 appearances for the Bees since arriving on loan at Griffin Park.
His Everton contract expires this summer and they are currently deciding whether to offer a new deal to the academy graduate, who joined them as an 11-year-old.
And Bidwell wants a second spell at Brentford, possibly on loan if the Merseysiders do give him another contract.
Bidwell said: “I’d like to come back next season – even if it’s a season-long loan.
“But it’s really not up to me now. It’s in Everton’s hands and I’ve just got to go along with whatever they say.
“Hopefully I’ll know a bit more about what’s going on in the next couple of weeks but I really don’t know what’s going on or what the plan is at the moment.”
