Bees win at Boreham Wood in friendly
Brentford’s pre-season campaign continued with a 3-1 win at Boreham Wood, where Stuart Dallas scored twice, Clayton Donaldson also found the net and Scott Barron returned to action.
Full-back Barron, who underwent a hip operation in March, played the first 45 minutes and linked up well with Sam Saunders on the left flank.
But Winstone Boldt, an American goalkeeper on trial with the Bees, endured a nightmare first half.
He was at fault for the opening goal, when he was beaten in the air by scorer Calum Willock, and also sent four over-hit kicks aimlessly out of play.
Brentford recovered, with Toumani Diagouraga almost equalising before Dallas’ tidy finish brought them level just before half-time.
And once Donaldson fired home after being set up by Saunders early in the second half, the visitors remained in control.
Saunders shot wide, Luke Norris headed over and Jake Reeves had a long-range effort saved before Dallas eventually smashed in the third.
