Crewe 1 Brentford 3
Adam Forshaw’s astonishing goal capped another Brentford victory after Alan Judge had scored twice.
Judge, on loan from Blackburn, fired the League One leaders ahead with a fine strike from near the edge of the penalty area after 12 minutes.
And he went one better seven minutes after the break, this time hitting the net from 25 yards to double the lead in style.
But he was upstaged by Forshaw’s effort from even further out, which flew into the net to seal the Bees’ win.
Crewe managed to pull a goal back, Chuks Aneke scoring with a penalty after a handball by Clayton Donaldson.
But Brentford were resounding winners and could have won by a greater margin.
Donaldson missed two good chances, Tony Craig headed wide and keeper Ben Garrett produced good saves to deny Judge and Marcello Trotta.
The Bees are unbeaten in 19 league matches and are now five points clear of third-placed Leyton Orient, who drew at Preston.
