Bees move for Jansson and reject offer for Sawyers
Brentford look set to sign defender Pontus Jansson from Leeds United and have rejected a £2m offer from Celtic for Romaine Sawyers.
Swedish centre-back Jansson, 28, is a popular figure at Leeds, who signed him from Torino in 2017 after he spent a season on loan at Elland Road from the Italian club.
His signing would therefore be a coup for the Bees, who are close to sealing a deal to buy him for around £5m.
Jansson has three years remaining on his contract at Leeds and played a key role in helping them reach the Championship play-off final last season.
Meanwhile, Celtic were immediately knocked back after making an offer for midfielder Sawyers, who has attracted interest from a number of clubs.
