Hayes & Yeading United 1 Brentford 4
Jonathan Douglas, Harry Forrester, Clayton Donaldson and Antonio German scored Brentford’s goals as they strolled to a comfortable win at Kingfield.
Daniel Wishart’s equaliser cancelled out Douglas’ early goal before Uwe Rosler’s side took control after the interval.
New signing Farid El Alagui played for the Bees, while there were also outings for trialists Andy Taylor and Juvhel Tsoumanou.
Left-sided player Leon Redwood and keeper Matt Gledhill, who were already on trial, featured in the second half.
Douglas put Brentford ahead when he volleyed in from close range after El Alagui’s header had been parried by keeper James Beasant.
A mistake by Sheffield United left-back Taylor, who once had a loan spell at QPR, led to Hayes & Yeading drawing level.
Taylor’s reckless pass to Leon Legge allowed Wishart to nick the ball away from the off-balance central defender and shoot past Simon Moore.
But Brentford hit back after the break, going ahead when Forrester fired in off the post after United had failed to clear their lines.
And when Tsoumanou’s lob beat substitute keeper Mikael Jaimez-Ruiz, Donaldson applied the finishing touch to put his team further in front.
Striker Tsoumanou, one of a host of half-time substitutes, is a Germany Under-19 international who was recently released by Preston.
Forrester almost netted again when his driven shot struck the post, before German cut in from the right and bundled in the fourth.
