Bees defender Sorensen joins Nice on loan
Brentford defender Mads Bech Sorensen has joined Ligue 1 side Nice on loan until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old centre-back made 11 Premier League appearances for the club last season but has found himself down the pecking order following the arrival of Ben Mee this summer, while the Bees have also re-signed Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen who missed much of last season through injury.
“We have added to our defensive options this summer, especially in the centre of defence and it was looking likely that game time for Mads may be limited,” Brentford’s director of football, Phil Giles, said.
“We discussed with him whether a loan might be the best option and this is a great opportunity for him.”
Full-back Fin Stevens is another player who could leave Brentford before the transfer window shuts, with Swansea City among clubs interested in taking the 19-year-old on loan.
