Brentford have signed England youth international striker Saido Berahino on loan from West Bromwich Albion until the end of the season and have confirmed the return of Adam Thompson.
Defender Thompson played 10 games for the Bees during a two-month loan spell earlier in the campaign and has rejoined them from Watford for another month.
Berahino, 18, was recently on loan at Northampton Town, netting six goals in 14 games for the League Two club.
He was part of the England squad that won the Under-17 European Championship in 2010, along with Chelsea’s Josh McEachran.
Bees boss Uwe Rosler told the club’s website: “Saido is an exciting player. He has been on loan at Northampton and did well at a team that is struggling.
“He is different to Clayton Donaldson and Gary Alexander – he plays in the box, he is sharp and a good finisher. I think he can play with either Gary or Clayton.”
Berahino was born in Burundi and moved to England at the age of 10.
He turned professional last summer and has an impressive scoring ration for his adopted country at the various youth levels, scoring 13 goals in 25 international games.
The teenager represented England at the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia in August and has been included in the England Under-19 squad for the game against Czech Republic at the end of the month, along with Bees loanee Jake Bidwell.
