Swindon 0 Brentford 1
Clayton Donaldson smashed home a second-half winner to lift Brentford up to seventh in the table.
The striker, who featured in a right-sided role at the County Ground, hit the net with a fine shot after Shaleum Logan’s ball forward had been flicked on by Paul Hayes.
Swindon had created more chances before that point, with Bees defender Harlee Dean clearing off the line from Matt Ritchie.
And Brentford keeper Simon Moore was in excellent form, producing a quality save to deny James Collins.
Donaldson’s opener knocked the stuffing out of the home side and Brentford had chances to add a second.
Sam Saunders fired inches over and Adam Forshaw had an effort blocked as Uwe Rosler’s men began to take control.
The Robins rallied late on and should have equalised when Chris Martin headed wide at the far post from Nathan Thompson’s cross.
Brentford: Moore; Logan, Dean, Craig, Bidwell; Diagouraga, Douglas; Donaldson, Forshaw (Kiernan 84), Barron (Forrester 71); Hayes (Saunders 76)
