Bees boss pledges support for El Alagui
Brentford manager Uwe Rosler insists the club will fully support Farid El Alagui following the striker’s serious knee injury.
The Moroccan, a summer signing from Scottish side Falkirk, has had initial scans showing significant damage to his left knee and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
“We have to be there for him – our whole club,” Rosler declared.
“He doesn’t have family or so many friends here because he just arrived, so we need to look after him now. I think it’s very important.”
Rosler added: “He is a massive loss for us, first of all from the football side but also on the personal side.
“Farid came from Scotland and wanted to make a big impression in English football. He started very well and settled in very well as a footballer and also as a person.
“He is very much liked around the place – then this happens.”
Rosler also confirmed the club will be looking to sign a replacement for El Alagui on loan.
The Bees boss stressed any newcomer must fit the right criteria for the team.
“Hopefully it will be someone who will be able to play with Clayton Donaldson and Paul Hayes and add goals to us,” he said.
“He must be the right character, have the right attitude, works hard, and be ambitious and hungry.”
