Brentford manager Uwe Rosler insists he does not regret his team selection after their involvement in the Capital One Cup ended with a 5-0 thrashing at Derby.
Rosler made 10 changes from the weekend win over Walsall, with Josh Clarke and Alfie Mawson making their first-team debuts.
Jack Bonham, Luke Norris and Aaron Pierre were also included after the Bees boss opted to make changes.
The result was a resounding win for the home side, but Rosler said: “I don’t regret my team selection. I don’t regret it because of the circumstances that have been dictated in the last week.
“Those players learned so much more today than playing another 15 development games so I think that was a great learning curve for them.
“Some of them like Josh Clarke showed his talent in periods and also I think Norris came on and battled away up front – I just wish he had more support.
“I’m just disappointed that we didn’t fight harder in the second half because we gifted them two easy goals.”
Rosler added: “Overall for the younger players it was a good experience but we have to move on.”
