Bees boss Rosler has high hopes for on-loan Cardiff City forward
Brentford manager Uwe Rosler hopes on-loan Cardiff City youngster Kadeem Harris can solve the left-sided attacking problem his side have suffered since Conor McAleny’s injury.
McAleny was forced to cut short his loan spell from Everton in August when he broke his leg, and Brentford have since struggled to find the right balance up front.
It was hoped Liverpool youngster Joao Teixeira would fill the void but the Portugal Under-21 international failed to make an impact and returned to Anfield after only two appearances for the Bees.
Harris, 20, arrived last week and scored on his debut in the 3-1 win against Colchester.
“You can see Kadeem gave us another option. He gives us pace and that is what we’ve looked for since Conor unfortunately broke his leg,” Rosler explained.
“When you have someone with pace running at people you don’t always need the full-back overlapping. We kept Kadeem wide and wanted to keep feeding him the ball.
“I am very happy to have him. He is very young and has a lot of work to do but I am very happy and thankful that [sporting director] Mark Warburton got me the player.
“I think he will enjoy his loan spell and, although he won’t always start, he will get a lot of playing time.”
