Brentford are set to extend the loan of Everton youngster Chris Long for a further month and Bees boss Mark Warburton believes the striker can make a big impact at Griffin Park.
The 19-year-old joined on an initial month’s loan on 20 January and scored his first Bees goal in the 3-1 win against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Warburton told West London Sport: “They’re doing the paperwork on that one right now and hopefully it’s all sorted.
“He’s a really talented young player that we’ve watched for a long while now.
“He’s come out of the same successful academy at Everton as Jake Bidwell and Adam Forshaw, and if he can follow in their footsteps he’ll be a very talented player.
“He trained well all week and I didn’t want to give him just five minutes at the end, I wanted him to have a proper run out. He scored and I’m delighted for him.”
