Pim Balkestein has agreed a move to AFC Wimbledon after having his Brentford contract terminated by mutual consent.
The 25-year-old defender, who had loan spells with the Dons and Rochdale last season, was not in Bees boss Uwe Rosler’s first-team plans and was expected to move on this summer.
Balkestein arrived at Griffin Park on loan from Ipswich in 2009 and was signed on a permanent deal the following year.
He made 46 appearances for Brentford, scoring twice.
