Price camp ‘interested’ in Harrison fight
David Price’s promoter Frank Maloney has hinted that his fighter could face Audley Harrison.
Harlesden’s former Olympic champion made a winning return to the ring on Saturday night, stopping Ali Adams in the fourth round of their clash at the Brentwood Centre in Essex.
It was Harrison’s first bout since losing a one-sided world title fight against David Haye in November 2010 – a performance he puts down to a pectoral injury.
The 40-year-old says he now wants to challenge Liverpool prospect Price for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.
And Maloney told West London Sport: “It’s a fight we’re interested in. We’re looking to get in contact with him [Harrison].
“There are a number of options we’re looking at and I can say that Audley Harrison is one of them.”
The highly-rated Price, 28, won a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics and has won all 13 of his professional contests, 11 of them by knockout.
He recently swept aside Sam Sexton after Tyson Fury – another leading British heavyweight Harrison says he would like to fight – opted not to face him.
