Fans on Twitter react to Terry news
Fans on Twitter have been reacting to the news that John Terry is set to leave Chelsea – with supporters of rival clubs admitting they believe the defender could still do a job for their team.
Terry, 35, has been told he will not be offered a new contract in the summer, when he will end his 21-year association with the Blues.
And although the Chelsea captain has said he does not want to play for another team in England, it hasn’t stopped some fans of Manchester City – where another Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard, played briefly – from wanting Terry to join them.

The vast majority of Chelsea fans questioned why the club were allowing Terry – who has made almost 700 appearances for the Blues since making his debut in 1998 – to leave.
Wrong decision to get rid of Terry, need his leadership next season and can comfortably play 20 games a season at the top level #cfc #jt

Our club has made some terrible decisions, but letting Terry go after all he’s achieved has to be the worst ever #legend #CFC

Absolutely shocking that Terry isn’t getting a new contract after all he’s done for the club. Disgraceful from the board. #CFC
