Eight players QPR will offload if a deal can be done
With his contract due to expire in the summer, when he will be available on a free transfer and potentially a tempting option for even the very biggest clubs in the country, Charlie Austin has indicated that he intends to stay at QPR for the time being at least.
But other players could leave Loftus Road if Rangers, who are keen to reduce costs, are able to agree deals to move them on. The likes of Yun Suk-Young and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas are surplus to requirements, but it’s eight of the bigger earners the club are most interested in offloading if the chance arises.
Matt Phillips
QPR rejected a £7m bid from West Bromwich Albion in the summer. His market value certainly hasn’t increased since then. Albion remain interested in a deal, Bournemouth are monitoring developments, and there have been some indications that Watford could also be interested. Rangers would certainly listen to offers.
Steven Caulker
Caulker is on a season-long loan at Southampton, whose manager Ronald Koeman says he wants the defender to stay for the remainder of the campaign. But if Rangers receive an offer they would approach the Saints about terminating Caulker’s loan deal at St Mary’s, where he has failed to make an impact. Crystal Palace reportedly want him, but so far the only approach has come from Sunderland, who seem interested in a potential deal.
Sandro
Director of football Les Ferdinand knows the midfielder well from their Tottenham days, as does former head coach Chris Ramsey, who did not want to recall him to the side earlier this season, before doing so somewhat reluctantly. QPR want him out and were disappointed that talks with AC Milan last summer over a loan move did not result in a deal. He has been offered to various clubs, including in his native Brazil.
Rob Green
Rangers are considering formally making the goalkeeper, 35, available to other clubs. A clause in his contract means he would land a new deal if he makes 30 appearances this season. He has so far made 25.
Armand Traore
Made available on a free transfer during the summer transfer window, Rangers would gladly wave goodbye to Traore this time around. That said, they were equally keen to get rid of him two years ago – the then manager Harry Redknapp was not a fan of the former Arsenal man, to put it mildly – yet some decent performances towards the end of the promotion campaign led to him being handed a two-year deal.
Junior Hoilett
Hoilett, who has a £7m release clause in his contract (stop laughing at the back), was made available on a free along with Traore in the summer and despite his form improving in recent weeks, Rangers wouldn’t stand in his way.
Samba Diakite
Diakite can also go on a free. He looked a hugely exciting prospect when he arrived four years ago but has barely featured.
Leroy Fer
Rangers came close to offloading Fer to Sunderland on loan during the summer, but the move fell through after a medical. They also discussed a loan deal with PSV Eindhoven shortly before the transfer deadline. They remain open to offers for the Dutchman.

Henry is the worst player to ever pull on a qpr shirt so unless he is paying the club to let him play I can’t for the life of me see how he keeps getting a game, we need to get rid of him and all the other dead wood, how the hell can they even think about getting rid of Matty Phillips but keep the Turd that is Henry

I agree with Chas ADEL is the Bowles Marsh Wegerli quality thevery week he will be fit if he knmows that hes in the teamese type of players change games with the magic they have at their feet
They need to play every game whatever they do or not do they cant be told how to play they just do it We had our best ever years with these players bring them back Adel should come back and be allowed to play his game every week

Would do everything to get rid of Traore, Sandro, Phillips, JET, Hill, Diakite,Fer and Green. Time to give JFH a chance to bring in his own type of players. Until that happens expect more of the same.

Supporter for 45 years the last 5 have been terrible with some very bad transfers.
QPR players used to have pride in the club and put in 100pc effort that is long gone and we have a bunch on excessive wages who couldn’t care less.
I won’t pay to come to any games unless things change it is so demoralising I hardly look at the results anymore and just expect them to lose, what a decline.

Only QPR would give Traore a 2 year extension despite not wanting him and never playing him.
The fact that we can’t even give half of theae players away on free transfers tells you all you need to know.
Sandro and Fer would struggle to pass fitness tests. Could have let Green walk last year but kept him on and give him the easy chance to get another year on top of that.
The sheer stupidity of the people making business decisions at this club is truly staggering if not, sadly, surprising

I would give free transfers to all players over the age of 24 except austin and phillips sell them for the max this will reduce our wage bill and i would play my youngsters instead of giving them out on loan some of the players that jfh selects are just ok but playing them in the wrong formation (5-5-0 4-5-1 5-4-1 1st half then all change 5-0-5 4-4-2 if losing 3-5-2 2-5-3) rs always look better in the second half and play better when changes are made
so jfh get rid play youth and win the league next season
then i would accept you as a good manager you cant win the way you are playing its just the same as previous 4 managers so no change for the fans were tired of it rs supporter for 65 yrs
