Teenage sub scores twice as Bees Under-21s beat Watford
Yoann Barbet, Josh Laurent and Jermaine Udumaga were among those involved as Brentford’s Under-21s scored three injury-time goals to beat Watford 4-3.
Teenage substitute Bradley Clayton started and finished the comeback, the second time in three games that they have hit back late on to turn defeat into victory.
On that occasion, against Crystal Palace, Sam Saunders scored twice but he and Lewis MacLeod were notable absentees from the line-up against Watford.
After a goalless first half, the Bees suddenly found themselves 3-0 down after 75 minutes.
Ashley Charles had put Watford ahead in the opening minute of the second half with a fine strike into the top corner and Alex Jakubiak doubled the lead on 72 minutes.
Barbet – whose first-team chances have been limited since joining in the summer – then fouled Bernard Mensah inside the box and Jakubiak scored the penalty.
But Brentford immediately hit back as Clayton converted from close range and in the 90th minute, Herson Rodrigues Alves pulled it back to 3-2.
Five injury-time minutes had elapsed when ex-QPR man Laurent pounced to level and Clayton snatched the winner shortly afterwards.
