Gossip: Chelsea tipped to try again for Stones, speculation over Chalobah

Chelsea have again been tipped to make another attempt to sign Everton defender John Stones, while there is speculation over the future of Nathaniel Chalobah. 

Blues youngster Chalobah has hardly featured for Napoli since joining them on a season-long loan.

And Italian media reports suggest the 20-year-old could return to Chelsea in January rather than see out the campaign in Naples.

The Daily Mirror say Chelsea plan to make a fresh move for Stones when the transfer window reopens in January, having failed to land the England international during the summer window.

French media reports have linked the Blues with a move for Paris St-Germain’s Marquinhos, and the Mirror say the Brazilian centre-back is also under consideration.

The Daily Express say Chelsea plan to offer Everton £36m in an attempt to take Stones to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star claim Chelsea are leading a race to sign 15-year-old forward Thomas Buitink from Vitesse Arnhem.

The Daily Mail reported on Thursday that Manchester City are interested in the player and that a number of other English clubs are also aware of him.

Picking up on that story, the Star suggest Chelsea are best placed to sign Buitink because of their partnership agreement with Vitesse.
