Chelsea said to have had two pre-deadline bids for Brazil defender rejected

Chelsea have had two bids for Brazilian defender Marquinhos rejected by Paris St-Germain, according to Sky Sports News HQ. 

Sky also say Chelsea are close to signing Reading defender Michael Hector in a deal worth £4m.

The 23-year-old Hector has attracted interest from a number of clubs and Crystal Palace were recently linked with him.

Meanwhile,  the Daily Mirror say defender Papy Djilobodji, who has joined Chelsea from Nantes, was previously rejected by Norwich, Bournemouth and Sunderland and after they were offered the chance to sign him for £2.7m.
