Brentford came from behind to beat Bristol City 4-2 and give Marinus Dijkhuizen his first win as boss. Here’s how we rated the Bees players at Ashton Gate.

David Button: 7
Made a superb reflex save to deny Aaron Wilbraham in the first half. Needed more protection and was often left exposed until the game was turned on its head.

Alan McCormack: 6
Given a torrid afternoon by wing-back Joe Bryan – City’s main goal threat. But redeemed himself by setting up Gray’s winner.

Harlee Dean: 6
An uncomfortable afternoon in more ways than one. Took a painful blow from Luke Freeman, while Aaron Wilbraham was a handful in the area.

James Tarkowski: 6
His involvement was brought to an end towards the end of the first half by a challenge from Wilbraham that had a hint of an elbow. On a day when both defences struggled, he was better off out of it.

Jake Bidwell: 7
The Bees skipper often got forward to support attacks, as usual, and dealt well with pacey City right wing-back Ryan Fredericks. Had a shot on target early in second half that forced a save.

Toumani Diagouraga: 6
Struggled to curtail the threat City offered between the midfield and defensive lines until they were down to 10 men. Better going forward.

Alan Judge: 8
A superb display. The fulcrum of just about every Bees attack. Always looking for the ball and popping up all over the place in the final third.

Konstantin Kerschbaumer: 6
A functional afternoon, rather than eye-catching, but did some good work linking up play when Bees got on the front foot.

Andre Gray: 9
A lively and hugely effective display on the right. Hand an influence in the first-half goals, bagged the third and never allowed City’s defence to relax.

Philipp Hofmann: 6
Posed less of a threat than Gray, overall, but still got on the scoresheet with a fine low shot on the turn after using his strength to hold off a defender.

Andy Gogia: 6
He and Bidwell teamed up well at times down the left flank to threaten the home rearguard. A dependable performance.

Jack O’Connell: 6
Had less to deal with than Tarkowski once the numbers were uneven and put in a solid shift.
