Solanke joins Vitesse Arnhem on loan

Teenage forward Dominic Solanke has become the fifth Chelsea player to join Vitesse Arnhem on loan.

The 17-year-old will be with the Dutch side for the whole of the season, having started training with them this week.

Solanke hit more than 40 goals for the club’s youth teams last season and made his senior debut as a substitute in the Champions League win over Maribor in October.

At the time, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho predicted Solanke would “play in many, many Champions League matches”.

He is now set to continue his development with Vitesse, who have used their connections with the Blues to also sign Lewis Baker, Danilo Pantic, Izzy Brown and Nathan on loan deals.
