Newcastle believe offer for Austin will be accepted, reports say
A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving QPR…
Speculation continues over the future of Charlie Austin – and Newcastle continue to be linked with the QPR striker.
Newcastle have not made an approach for Austin despite numerous reports that the Magpies and several other clubs have attempted to sign him.
The Daily Mirror and the Daily Express say Newcastle will offer QPR £13.25m and want reassurances over Austin’s previous shoulder injury – and that the Premier League club believe the offer will be enough to take him to St James’ Park.
The north-east media have consistently reported that Newcastle boss Steve McClaren is keen to sign Austin and has made approaches to Rangers.
The Newcastle Chronicle now say McClaren is ready to test the water with a bid below QPR’s £15m asking price.
McClaren is keen to sign the 26-year-old but is in no rush to do a deal, according to the Northern Echo.

If no one wants to pay the £15m asking price that Sir Les & CR have put on Austin then keep him, he’ll score bundles in the Championship. If he leaves on a free next year and we are promoted the £15m loss will be small change. COYR’S!!!

Wasn’t it his knee that stop him going to hull, hence his celebration against them

I would rather Austin stay at QPR and run his contract down.be a gamble but 25 to 30 goals in the championship could be a promotion back to the premiership.
