‘Pay whatever the price is!’ – fans on Twitter discuss QPR star Austin
As speculation over Charlie Austin’s future continues, the striker is being linked with several clubs despite QPR not receiving any offers or approaches.
The likes of Newcastle, Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham are all said to be interested in the 25-year-old, with many fans on Twitter keen for their club to snap him up.
Newcastle, now with former QPR coach Steve McClaren in charge, have been touted as the favourites to land him and some of their fans seem pretty keen to get the deal done.
Groundhog Day:Just pay whatever the asking price is for Austin and get the deal done, you’ll sell another 10k season tickets instantly! #nufc

Newcastle now offered Charlie Austin the famous No.9 shirt, would be a great signing 👍 — Liam Davies (@ExciteeeLD) June 26, 2015
Newcastle please hurry up and sign austin. Thanks

Some Tottenham supporters believe they could be in pole position to sign Austin, with a move for Monaco’s Anthony Martial said to be stalling.
If we’re actually in for Charlie Austin we should get him. We’ll fight off Newcastle, West Ham and Southampton. — Richie (@richiecripps) June 26, 2015
Would rather we spend the money on #Austin rather than #Martial as he’s proved playing with poor players he can still score goals. #THFC

Austin to sign for Newcastle?? Mitchell, Levy & Poch are three idiots if he signs for Newcastle. #thfc — Mikow (@Mikow_) June 23, 2015
West Ham have been linked with both Austin and Chelsea striker Loic Remy, sparking a debate between Hammers fans over the merits of the two.
@WestHam_Central Austin without a doubt. Proper Number 9. The new @Dean36ashton10 #WHUFC

@WestHam_Central looks like remy but think I prefer austin. More of a centre forward and natural finisher. Remy is injury prone. — shanewhufc (@shanewhufc1) June 25, 2015
@Pearcey_ @MitchwhufcVince Remy is the one for West Ham much more proven then Austin one good season and 15m

Aston Villa supporters, meanwhile, seem resigned to losing Christian Benteke and some feel their club should look to replace him with Austin. Others disagree.
If Benteke is sold, #avfc need to aim a higher than Charlie Austin. Would rather Ba or Remy, half the price and better quality. — Graham Ralph (@GrahamRalph1) June 26, 2015
Cash in on Benteke asap and sign Charlie Austin #avfc

Chelsea have been mentioned as a possible destination for Austin – which pleased one Blues fan, but would not go down well with Rangers supporters.
I for one would really love to see Charlie Austin in a @ChelseaFC shirt next season. #KTBFFH #COYB #CFC — ‘Dipo ‘Yomi (@diipoyourmie) June 26, 2015
If Charlie Austin goes to Chelsea I’ll be disgusted

Austin to stay at QPR. Until January.
Get 20 million for him after scoring 2o goals in as many games in the championship
Why not?..

I am a qlpr fan of 51 years I would prefer Austin to stay but I think he’s a special player and person not the normal money grabbing Posey footballers but one who’s work hard to get his chances in life and appreciates what a gift he has and I wish him and his family well and clubs should be falling over themselves to sign this British bargain.thanks Charlie for being one of the few great buys over the last five years at Qpr.

Would prefer Austin but 15mil is a bit steep until he’s had a couple more seasons in the PL to prove he can do it consistently, Loic’s a great player and should be a bit cheaper but I believe he’s a bit more injury prone.
To be honest, I’d be more than happy with either.
