Toral keen to use Brentford experience
Jon Toral believes his experience at Brentford could help him establish himself at Arsenal.
The 20-year-old has largely been used as an impact substitute during his season-long spell at Griffin Park, starting only eight Championship games.
But he has scored six times for the Bees, including a hat-trick against Blackpool in February.
Toral will return to parent club Arsenal when Brentford’s season ends, either after their final league game on Sunday or later in May should they reach the play-offs.
And the Spaniard remains keen to show the Gunners how much he has improved while playing in the second tier.
Toral told Brentford’s website: “It’s always been my aim to go back to Arsenal and prove that I can play there.
“I’m very happy with the season at Brentford and I think I’ve learned a lot to go forward with Arsenal.
“I was struggling at the beginning. I had to get used to the league and the players. It was something new for me but I think I’ve coped with it.
“It’s been my first professional season and I’m very happy that it’s been with Brentford because I’ve learned a lot from the staff and the players and the league.”
And Toral wants to finish his loan on a high by helping Brentford finish in the top six, which they will do if they beat Wigan and either Ipswich or Derby slip up.
He added: “We have to focus on ourselves, win that game and hope other results go our way.
“We know if we do our job we’ve got a chance. If we don’t win, it doesn’t matter what other teams do.
“Every game is a must-win game – that’s how I approach the games, because I want to win, always.”
