Dean calls for an end to Warburton saga
Brentford defender Harlee Dean says the club’s board must act to clear up the uncertainty over manager Mark Warburton’s future.
Bees owner Matthew Benham is expected to release a statement on Monday confirming that Warburton will be replaced in the summer.
Last week an ambiguous statement was issued by the club after it was reported that Warburton faced the axe regardless of how his promotion-chasing team end the campaign.
“We need to know what’s happening now, to be clear. It’s a cloud over us and no one really knows what’s happening,” Dean told West London Sport
“I want Mark around for as long as possible and I think everyone does. He’s a supportive manager that oozes positivity and just wants players to do better, be better and be successful. I can’t praise him enough in that aspect.
“It’s obvious he’s got our backing but that doesn’t mean anything. We are just employees and so is he, so whatever we think doesn’t matter – we don’t get the final say.”
