‘Rip van Sterling’ could punish QPR and pile the pressure on Harry
QPR entertain Liverpool on Sunday and will need to improve dramatically on their showing at Upton Park if they are to get anything from the game.
The Reds have a very good recent record against the R’s, winning five of the last six meetings between the sides in the league.
Brendan Rodgers’ team are 4/7 to win again, with the Hoops 5/1 and the draw 16/2.
It will be interesting to see if ‘Rip van Sterling’ makes the Liverpool side as a 1.30pm start is unlikely to be past his bedtime and the England star is 11/2 to score first.
Daniel Sturridge, incidentally, was 4/1 to score first having trained every day during the international break at Melwood before suffering an injury setback.
Harry Redknapp has won just five of his 32 Premier League games as QPR manager and he has been backed into 2/5 to be the next top-flight boss to lose/leave his job.
You sense that Rangers need a win from the home games against Liverpool and Aston Villa before they head to Stamford Bridge in two weeks’ time.
