Fernandes hits back at ‘ridiculous’ tweets from fans after QPR defeat
Tony Fernandes hit back at angry QPR fans on Twitter on Monday morning.
Many supporters have urged the Rangers chairman to sack manager Harry Redknapp in the wake of the 2-0 defeat at West Ham.
Fernandes tweeted “Just not good enough” immediately after Sunday’s game and later added: “Stand tall and be brave . we got good players. Its time they get fit and get ready for battle.”
He has since followed that up with a number of tweets appearing to back Redknapp, who has blamed Rangers’ woes on Loic Remy’s departure and fitness issues among the squad.
Fernandes tweeted: “A couple of things.we got promoted. Please note where other clubs who got relegates are .pls remember how many clubs got straight up.
When we lost remy 48 hours before deadline day it was huge huge blow. Huge blow. But we fight on. Stop sendind me ridiculous tweets

“That’s it .there should be no more excuses from anyone especially me .buck stops at me . I’m up for the battle .
“Is sacking the answer. When we met mark hughes go we still went down. Is it tactics ,is it players ,is it coaching ,is it fitness,

“I’m not stupid or a quitter. All I can assure fans is as always we will be transparent and leave no stone unturned to stay up and build.”
Summer signing Rio Ferdinand has also come in for criticism, having made a number of errors since his arrival at the club.

Couldn’t agree more about the fitness comments. In any other business it would be gross misconduct or at the very least negligence to not be fit after seven games – nearly a fifth of the season gone. Any player that cannot get fit and any manager that cannot get his highly expensive and highly paid squad fit should be summarily dismissed without compensation. In fact you should be dismissed just for having the effrontery for using it as an excuse… 🙂

Tony F promised he had learnt lessons from last time we were in the PL and I think most fans believe he has brought in better players. Something is not right at Loftus Road though. There are too many people that are way too comfortable.
Does that come from not enough pressure from above? I’m not sure there are that many other clubs that would let players go through the motions like they are doing at QPR.
Having said that, the blame for having an unfit team in October falls solely at HR’s door. I notice this morning that he says he’ll quit if we go down. Thanks for that Harry.
