QPR boss was advised to take Sandro off
Harry Redknapp says he reluctantly took Sandro off during Sunday’s 2-0 defeat against West Ham after being advised to do so by QPR’s medical staff.
Sandro, who has been struggling with a knee problem since being signed from Redknapp’s former club Tottenham, went off midway through the second half at Upton Park.
And the Rangers boss explained: “The doctor comes to me at half-time and says he [Sandro] can only do another 15 minutes.
“At the moment he’s short of fitness. I need to get him fit enough to play 90 minutes. I put a lot of faith in Sandro and unfortunately at the moment he’s had an injury.
“We need to get him fit because when he’s fit he’s a fantastic player – I had him at Tottenham and he’s an excellent player.”
