Chelsea youngsters thrash Schalke ahead of Champions League clash
Isaiah Brown scored twice as Chelsea’s Under-19s beat Schalke 4-1 in the Uefa Youth League ahead of the first team’s Champions League game against the German side.
Dominic Solanke and Ola Aina also scored for the young Blues at Cobham, where they led 2-1 at half-time.
Brown put them ahead after only eight minutes, finishing well after being set up by Solanke, who then scored from close range after being found by Charly Musonda.
The visitors pulled a goal back before the break but Brown restored the two-goal advantage with a fierce left-footed strike following excellent work by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
And Aina added the fourth, tapping home after Brown’s shot had come back off the post.
Schalke ended the game with 10 men after substitute Hendrik Lohmar was sent off for a second book able offence.
