Brentford clinch another away victory
Rotherham 0 Brentford 2
Injury-time strikes from Andre Gray and substitute Nick Proschwitz at the end of each half earned Brentford a second successive away league victory.
Gray curled a shot home in off the far post in first-half stoppage time after a superb pass by Alan Judge.
And Preoschwitz wrapped up the win with a simple second in added time at the end of the second period after being teed up by Jon Toral.
The Bees were good value for the victory and had more of the ball, but Rotherham also created good chances and hit the bar twice hit before the break.
Kirk Broadfoot almost opened the scoring after five minutes, but his header from Kari Arnason’s long throw came back off the bar.
And just over three minutes before Gray’s opener, Paul Taylor almost broke the deadlock when his shot beat keeper David Button but also hit the bar.
However, the visitors had more opportunities.
Alex Pritchard saw a diving header go over the bar, James Tarkowski also headed over after great work by Pritchard.
And Judge and Spanish midfielder Jota both shot wide before the interval
The lively Pritchard went close to adding to the lead in the early stages of the second half but his fierce strike was well saved.
Harlee Dean, who kept his place in the side despite Tony Craig being available after suspension, almost gifted the hosts a goal but Matt Derbyshire shot wide.
The one downside was a late injury to substitute Scott Hogan, who had to be replaced 15 minutes after coming on.
The injury led to nine minutes of added time, but the away defence stood firm in the face of some strong home pressure.
Both sides were still making chances however, and the Bees made sure of the points when Proschwitz was able to net from close range.
