QPR’s bid for Lascelles rejected by Forest
Nottingham Forest have rejected QPR’s bid for Jamaal Lascelles.
West London Sport revealed this week that Rangers had made an offer for the 20-year-old centre-back, who has been monitored by several Premier League clubs and has represented England at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 levels.
But new Forest boss Stuart Pearce has made it clear that his club have no intention of selling Lascelles, with Tottenham reported to be planning a bid.
Lascelles has made 38 first-team appearances for Forest, 34 of them coming last season, and has also had a spell on loan at Stevenage.
Harry Redknapp is keen to bring in at least one central defender this summer.
The QPR manager has agreed a deal in principle for former England and Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand, although chairman Tony Fernandes has reservations about signing the 35-year-old.
And an offer has been made for Cardiff City’s Steven Caulker, who played under Redknapp at Tottenham.
Rangers met an £8m release clause in Caulker’s contract, paving the way for talks to take place with the 22-year-old England international.
