First-round exit for Ouseph in Jakarta

Hounslow’s Rajiv Ouseph suffered a first-round exit from the Indonesia Open, losing to Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo in Jakarta. 

Ouseph won the first game but the Indonesian qualifier hit back to clinch a 17-21 21-18 21-15 victory and take his place in the last 16.

This summer Ouseph will represent England at Commonwealth Games. He won silver in Delhi four years ago and is targeting another medal in Glasgow this time around.

“Winning the silver medal in Delhi was a fantastic achievement and I am determined to win another medal for England,” he said.

“I know the challenge will be tough as there are some very strong countries but I will give it everything I have to try and achieve it.”
