Annabel goes for gold at Youth Olympics
Teenage golf sensation Annabel Dimmock has landed in China ahead of her bid to win a medal at the Youth Olympics.
The Hillingdon-born 17-year-old, who made her debut appearance at the Curtis Cup in June, will be Team GB’s sole representative in a 32-strong field in Nanjing.
Her first round begins next Tuesday with the medals decided on Thursday.
Next month she will be the only English representative in Europe’s team to take on the United States in the Junior Ryder Cup.
Annabel’s year has included a notable win in the prestigious Jones Doherty Challenge Cup in America before she mastered Royal Troon to land the Helen Holm Scottish Open Strokeplay title.
Her impressive form led to her selection in the Curtis Cup, the biannual team match between Great Britain and the USA.
Although GB lost 13-7, Annabel did pick up a win and a half in her four matches.
Now she will hope to perform in a GB shirt again as she takes on the world’s best young talent in Nanjing.
