Victory for QPR as Warren Farm group fail
An application for a judicial review of Ealing Council’s decision to approve QPR’s plans for a new training ground at Warren Farm has been rejected by a High Court judge.
The application was submitted by the Hanwell Community Forum amid claims that the council had ‘gifted’ the site to Rangers.
Mr Justice Lewis concluded that the council acted appropriately and that QPR’s costs of £5,000 must be paid by the Hanwell Community Forum, which now has a week to seek an oral hearing appealing against the decision.
“We are pleased with the outcome from the High Court and welcome the news that the application for a judicial review has been rejected,” said QPR’s chief operating officer Mark Donnelly.
“We look forward to continue working closely with Ealing Council on this project.”
West London Sport revealed in 2012 that the site near Osterley Park was QPR’s preferred destination for a new training base.
The club announced in January this year that their application had been approved by Ealing Council.
