Whites boss dismisses Curbishley rumours
Rene Meulensteen has dismissed suggestions Alan Curbishley is waiting in the wings to replace him as Fulham boss as “nonsense”.
Meulensteen is under pressure to turn things around, with the Whites bottom of the Premier League and having this week been knocked out of the FA Cup by League One side Sheffield United.
And Curbishley, recently installed as technical director at the club, has been touted as a possible successor to the Dutchman.
But Meulensteen insisted: “It’s nonsense. He’s been brought in by myself as a member of my backroom staff because it’s good to have these kinds of experienced people around you, especially in these periods.
“Alan has reassured us that all of us should believe in the right things, not get sidetracked and to stay focused.”
