Man Utd are losing a top-class player, says Fulham boss Meulensteen
Manchester United will lose a “world-class defender” when Nemanja Vidic leaves in the summer, according to Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen.
The 32-year-old centre-back has stated he will leave the champions when his contract expires at the end of the season in search of a new challenge abroad.
Meulensteen worked with Vidic while part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s backroom staff at United, and he hailed the Serbian international ahead of Fulham’s trip to Old Trafford on Sunday.
“Vidic has been very important for United over the years. He’s been rock solid – a fantastic defender and a world-class player,” he said.
“He’s been a top player for Man United and a real cornerstone of the success they’ve had over many years.”
