Birmingham City’s ‘good guys’ praised for role in developing Whites defender
Birmingham City boss Lee Clark has been praised by Fulham’s head coach Rene Meulensteen for his work with Dan Burn.
The 21-year-old defender enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Championship club and they were hopeful that he would be allowed to return.
But after Burn impressed against Norwich in the FA Cup, Meulensteen has decided to keep him at Craven Cottage.
And he said: “I have to give credit to Lee Clark and Steve Watson at Birmingham for what they’ve done for him. It’s what you want loans to be.
“They are good guys there. I know them really well and they keep me in the loop.
“Dan has done very well. He has matured a lot. He has impressed me since he came back as we’ve had more access to him, seeing him train.
“He did extremely well against Norwich and it shows his loan at Birmingham has worked.”

It’s great to get all the plaudits for Burn, Morrison, Lingard and Townsend, but does little to help the club in the longer term thanks to the FA and Football League’s useless and unfit for purpose ‘fit and Proper Persons Test’ for owners, when the current CEO takes a million pounds when the club make a loss of £9 million.
How is that financial prudence or doing the best for your shareholders?
Thanks Gold and Sullivan.
