Burn poised to rejoin Birmingham
Fulham defender Dan Burn will be allowed to rejoin Birmingham City on loan until the end of the season after Tuesday’s FA Cup replay against Norwich.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a successful spell at the Blues this term, making 29 appearances and scoring a goal in their League Cup game against Swansea.
He returned to Craven Cottage on 2 January and impressed as the Whites drew 1-1 in the FA Cup third round at Carrow Road last weekend.
Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen said: “We want to keep him here in training for the next FA Cup game but after that he will most likely be given the opportunity to be loaned back to Birmingham.
“It’s important for him to keep on playing. It would be silly not let him continue progressing.
“Obviously we were delighted with his performance against Norwich – it shows that his loan to Birmingham is working.”
Meulensteen added: “It’s important at this stage of his career that Dan plays a lot of competitive games, so we brought him back so we could have a look at him and see how he responded.”
