Redknapp plotting new attempt to sign Spurs man – report

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is plotting another attempt to sign Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe, the Daily Telegraph suggest.

Redknapp has previously tried to bring Defoe, who played under him at Spurs and Portsmouth, to Loftus Road.

It is claimed that he wants to sign him on loan but his plans could be scuppered by the recent sacking of Andre Vilas-Boas, who overlooked Defoe while manager at White Hart Lane.

Redknapp’s assistant Kevin Bond admitted after Saturday’s home defeat against Leicester that Rangers may look to bring in another forward next month.

Meanwhile, several newspapers continue to link QPR with Newcastle central defender Steven Taylor.
