Bees boss explains Forshaw substitution
Brentford manager Uwe Rosler said he took Adam Forshaw off during the second half against Colchester because the midfielder has been struggling with illness.
Some Bees supporters booed Rosler’s decision to withdraw Forshaw after 65 minutes of the 3-1 win at Griffin Park.
“We can’t be like an open book – we can’t tell our website or journalists before the game that Adam Forshaw was sick on Friday,” Rosler explained.
“Adam was not very well on Friday and you could see he didn’t have the usual energy he has to dictate games.
“I had to make substitutions as I saw them today and Adam is one of our best players.
“But I think the sub I made was absolutely right. When Sam Saunders and Kadeem Harris came on they gave us an extra boost.”
